What does the display on my charge controller tell me?

The Zamp Solar digital charge controller has an easy-to-read LED. The goal of the solar panel array is to charge the battery using free sunlight. There are several ways to do this, depending on the solar panel type. The solar panel array can be optimized to produce more electricity for a given model and location. The new system uses Growatt’s smart microinverters that optimize the charging process to cycle batteries less often and increase their lifespan in the process.

The ST-6000 is an all-in-one solar charge controller and power supply. It monitors, charges, and maintains all types of battery banks from a solar generator. With its dual selectable voltage output, it can be used in marine/RV or home/shop applications. Featuring a built-in temperature sensor, advanced anti-islanding features, and low voltage disconnect it provides powerful fault protection to keep you safe.

How do I install your Omni-Mount Feet (ZS-MF-US)?

  1. If you install solar panels on your roof, it will be easier to find placement for them 
  2. Install mounting feet to the panel by following the diagram.
  3. Tighten ¼-20 nuts to approximately 20-foot lbs of torque.
  4. Mark the location of the mounting foot (C) holes on the roof of your RV.
  5. Drill holes as indicated by the marks from the previous step.
  6. Apply a generous amount of sealant to the RV roof where mounting feet and screws will be placed.
  7. Place panels and mounting feet over the drilled and sealed areas.
  8. Install the mounting screws (C) and let the sealant set.
  9. Retighten as needed.

 

Can I connect two charge controllers to the same battery bank (e.g. combine a roof mount system and a portable kit)?

Yes, you can connect two different charge controllers to the same battery as long as they are both set to control the same type

I have a Zamp Solar Ready sticker on the side of my RV, what does that mean?

RVs can be solar-ready in a variety of ways. They can come prewired by your manufacturer, or they may have a compatible roof located in the right spot for your solar products. We’ll evaluate your RV when you order from us to see if it can become solar-ready, and inform you of whether it comes wired with the correct ports, or whether any rewiring will be required.
